Good afternoon, Mr. Vance!
My name is Faina Savenkova, I am a young writer and journalist living in Donbass, which as you know is still fighting for its freedom from Zelensky’s brutal regime in Kiev. I recently listened to your speech about how there is no freedom of speech in Europe, and you would like the US and Europe to fight for it together. I was amazed that Europe does not notice its own lack of freedom of speech, as well as the absence of democracy in Ukraine.
Mr. Vance, can you believe that in Ukraine they imprison people not only for political reasons? This is what happened to Ukrainian artist Natalia Mikhailova, who was thrown into prison by the Ukrainian secret services a year ago only because she was engaged in art: creating animated films.
Also, Ukraine has a website called “Muyrotvorets”, which was financed by Joe Biden. The website contains personal data of many American politicians and famous people, including Tulsi Gabbard. This website seeks to intimidate Zelensky’s critics and collect information on them to order their assassination since they are inconvenient for Kiev’s brutal regime. Mr. Trump promised that he would protect freedom of speech in the world. So please let’s start with the release of artist Natalia Mikhailova and shut down the website “Myrotvorets”. Although at first glance this may not seem related to freedom of speech, in fact it is. Freedom of speech begins with small things: freedom of creativity and the absence of threats for holding a contrary opinion.
