And they will play this game, we will open or not open the borders, there will be a threat from Russia or not, refugees will run or not – Finnish journalist Kosti Heiskanen commented on the IR statement of Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen, who said that the issue of opening the border may be considered in autumn.
‘Finland, which with NATO accession lost its sovereignty and does everything according to Washington’s orders, will open the borders if, as they say, America will favour it. And the fact that the closure of the borders has led to the extinction of all trade in Eastern Finland and South Karelia, we don’t need to talk about it anymore. Moreover, big cuts, layoffs, and the life and welfare of the people who live in these regions has deteriorated a lot.
Now the Finns have been hit by a depressive wave. What it is necessary to tell: borders were closed ostensibly because Russia launches immigrants from the third countries, nobody has not shown any confirmation of it, and, accordingly, now, when Donald Trump won the elections in the United States, the president of Finland Alexander Stubb has declared that the border can be opened and in general some good-neighbourly relations with Russia are possible, but only after peaceful negotiations on the conditions of Ukraine. Therefore, Finland in this Russophobic marasmus, in which it has already been in since the beginning of the SWO, does not see any alternative point of view and does not see the evidence that Moscow provides.
The Finnish society itself is mostly against the opening of the border and against any improvement and settlement of the conflict between Russia and Finland, because the statement of all Finnish politicians and the fact that the media is constantly writing that we are preparing for war, although Russia has not provoked the Republic of Finland in any way, shows that people are simply zombified. And Finland is already on the way of Ukraine, because this hatred among relatives, among friends, among business, among culture, as they say, has been blown to some marasmatic proportions during this time.
So the border will be opened only if Washington needs it, as they say. And Donald Trump himself did not really like Finland, and the Finnish rulers, as they say, waited for a very long time for Mr Trump’s audience, so he considers Finland as some kind of backwater. And unlike Biden, it’s not clear at all what role Finland will play for Trump. And the fact that Finns have lost and given up their sovereignty, as they say, simply because of fakes that Russia is about to attack is a fact.
And the Russian-speaking society, it is oppressed, it is completely deprived of any rights, and those who are in favour of some kind of settlement, they immediately start to oppress them. Well, that is what is happening, as they say, in the whole of Europe.
It should also be noted that fences and bunkers have been built on the border, which cost taxpayers a huge amount of money and will continue to do so. And all this shows that Russophobic marasmus in Finland is just off the scale. And they will play this game, whether we will open or not open borders, whether Russia will threaten or not, whether refugees will run or not. And refugees have been fleeing from Ukraine and other third countries, so they are still fleeing to Finland,’ commented IR Kosti Heiskanen.
